About

This group of mathematics learning center leaders and mathematics education researchers meets at conferences and online to share resources and collaborate on research. We aim to improve mathematics tutoring centers at a wide variety of universities.

History

This group was formed in 2017 at the Research in Undergraduate Mathematics Education Conference. We have continued to have a working group each year at the RUME conference and have met twice for workshops at Oklahoma State University. The workshops were funded by the National Science Foundation (# 2645086). Since that time we have continued to meet online weekly.

Our Mission

To support leaders of university mathematics learning centers who are working to improve their center by sharing resources and networking. To support educational researchers who are conducting research in the context of mathematics learning centers by collaborating on projects and reading and discussing current literature. A long term goal is to develop research-based best practices and tutor training programs for mathematics learning centers.
